Above is the latest image from the OKC area radar. As you can see, a solid line of severe thunderstorms extends from just West of Guthrie to Ponca City, to the Kansas line North/Northeast of Ponca City. The Northern portion of the line is beginning to accelerate to the East at 35 mph, while the Southern end of the line is moving East at 15-20 mph, but is also likely to accelerate during the next hour or so.
Damaging wind gusts of 60-70 mph and hail up to 1 inch diameter can be expected with this line of storms. As the line continues to accelerate Eastward over the next 1-2 hours, the damaging wind gust potential will increase into the 70-80 mph range, particularly with any segments of the line that begin to "bow" out toward the East/Northeast.
Based on the current position and track of this line, severe weather, including the possibility of damaging winds, will enter the Stillwater area between 9:15 and 9:30 pm CDT, and the Tulsa Metro area during the 10 o'clock hour this evening. Please use these times for guidance purposes only... particularly in the Tulsa area. This line is likely to accelerate toward the East during the next hour, which means the Tulsa area could be impacted earlier than is currently indicated, depending upon just how fast this acceleration occurs.
If you live along or ahead of this line of storms, please be prepared to seek immediate shelter if threatening weather approaches your area.
Further South, storms continue to be more isolated in nature near the OKC Metro area and to the West of Ada. Damaging winds and large hail are possible with this activity, and isolated tornadoes also cannot be ruled out until this activity becomes part of the larger line of storms in the next 1-2 hours.
