TODAY'S WEATHER ACROSS UK & EUROPE By Mark Vogan

Band of heavy, persistent rain to clear England tonight with warmer air pulling up from France. Rest of Europe remains on the warm showery side. Mid-week may see 100 in southern/central Spain

Through tonight, the heavy and persistent rains battering much of England, including the drought areas of the south and southeast will continue heading northwards bringing wet and windy conditions to all of Scotland later tonight and tomorrow.

This band of soaking rains will eventually clear throughout tomorrow and we could see a very wet and increasingly windy day across the far north of Scotland where winds could continue revving to 'severe gale-force along the Caithness coast and over the Northern Isles as this low deepens.

Tomorrow's Highs across UK

London will see highs push 24 or 25C. Birmingham and Manchester 18-22C and from Carlisle northwards it should range from a chilly, rain cooled 12 to around 16 or even 17C where skies clear out and the sun heats the ground.

BBC UK Forecast

Best chance of rain will be from northern Spain and much of France, becoming more thundery and isolated in nature from Germany eastwards

Showers will be off and on and isolated in nature across Spain and Andorra but a greater liklihood of showers, some of which may be heavy and persistent may impact chunks of France eastwards through the Alps of Austria and Switzerland as well as across areas of Germany, Poland into the eastern countries but from Germany towards Russia, it's more isolated, thundery with the high surface heat instability. Temperatures for almost all of mainland Europe will warm beyond 21C with many areas enjoying 24 to 28C thanks to high pressure firmly in control as expected for June. However, cool air pockets floating at 30,000ft above Europe's warm surface creates instability in the atmosphere and when you've cool over warm, once the sun's rays do their work then bingo! Clouds form and build vertically into towering afternoon/evening thunderstorms. Most spots though will enjoy sunshine and heat, there is always a chance of summer-showers, especially from mid to late afternoon. The best chance for rain showers will be from northern Spain, through much of France and becoming more thundery and isolated further east towards Poland, Ukraine. Northern sections of Italy and Greece could see thunderstorms pop. Temperatures across the south-central countries along the northern Med basin can enjoy hot, sunny skies with temps pushing the middle 30s C.

TODAY'S WEATHER ACROSS AMERICA By Mark Vogan

Strong, powerful thunderstorms to fire up over N & Central Plains. Thundery day from Atlanta to NYC, Cool in New England, while heat remains full on in South!

While the blowtorch remains 'ON-FULL' with no end in the near future, cooler air has now established itself across the Northern tier thanks to a trough and the presence of a storm system. A boundary drapped west to east across the central US seperates mild 60s and 70s with the upper 80s, 90s and even 100s across West Texas.

The Southeast from Atlanta, Ga north to the I-95 will see an active shower and thunderstorm afternoon and evening with 90s over the Southeast, 80s in the Mid-Atlantic and 70s in NYC, even cooler up into New England where Boston may struggle to get out of the 50s today!

The trouble spot today will be focused from the Dakotas southeastwards into the Central Plains of Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma. Drier, sunnier conditions will be over the Ohio Valley but then more thunderstorms will be has over the East from Appalachains to Atlantic.
