The above radar mosaic was taken just a moment ago. The clusters of severe thunderstorms that you see across portions of southern Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri are expected to congeal into one or more thunderstorm complexes overnight tonight. This activity will track East to Southeast, with damaging winds, dangerous lightning and very heavy rain the primary threats.
Overnight and into the early morning hours of Sunday, the highest threat of widespread damaging winds will take place across the red and black hatched areas on the image below:
Within these areas, very damaging winds are possible overnight tonight, which could produce widespread damage and/or power outages. This threat appears particularly high across southeast Kansas into the southern half of Missouri. If you live in these areas, please make sure to have a NOAA Weather Radio with a battery back-up, or other similar device available overnight to warn you should threatening weather approach your area.
