SCOTLAND: It's about to get Cold by late week and into this weekend!
Whilst the BBC forecasts 34 degrees (1C) Saturday morning for Glasgow, Aviemore may struggle to reach a high of 43 degrees (6C), perhaps some snow?

As we begin to close in on a new month and a proper autumn month, a month which often sees the first true cool blasts down from the north, a month that strips most trees of their leaves and mornings that can start crisp and brisk.

Well, it appears that taste of October will arrive a little early and in fact we may even feel more like November come this Thursday and through the weekend and highs may struggle to top 10C in Glasgow and Edinburgh and up over the higher ground of the Central and Northern Highlands, such villages like Dalwhinnie, Aviemore, Tulloch Bridge and Altnaharra may find themselves struggling to reach a high of 6C, that's only 43 degrees. At this moment in time, the BBC is forecasting lows as chilly as 1C or 34 degrees for Glasgow City Centre, 3C or 36 degrees for Edinburgh on Saturday morning and 36 in Aviemore. Whilst it's calling for rain in the Highlands, grey cloud is the forecast for the Central Belt... Could it be cold enough to the north for snow perhaps?

EXTREME HEAT ACROSS DEEP SOUTH USA

A major blast of heat continues to bake the Southeast US with highs more associated with a mid-July heatwave as such places as Memphis, Tenn and Montgomery, Ala topped 100 degrees yesterday afternoon whilst New Orleans, Louisiana touched a toasty 91 degrees. Atlanta, Georgia got confused with the calender when they reached a sweltering 96 degrees, in fact, so warm, that even at the tail end of what has been a long, hot summer, this reading was right up there with their warmest of the entire year. Impressive considering, most summer days this year has been 90 degrees or warmer.

EXTREME FLOODING ACROSS TEXAS

A disturbance that formed over the Gulf and had not enough time to develop moved inland over Texas and with a trailing warm, tropical flow pushing up from the Gulf and bumping up against this upper-level energy, this has brought trendous flooding across south-central Texas with the worst hit area appearing to be Corpus Christi which has seen over 10 inches of rain since Friday and doubling their average rainfall for the month of September.
