TODAY'S WEATHER ACROSS UK & EUROPE By Mark Vogan

Unsettled weather presses northwards into northern Spain, leaving it drier to the south but western/central Med remains unsettled, UK stays dry but cooling slightly

High pressure that has been dominant in the UK & western Europe weather pattern continues pushing north, opening the door to a cooler, fresher air flow from Scandinavia. Although, skies will remain mostly sunny, if not wall-to-wall like it has been for several days straight now, especially over Scotland, it's not going to be quite as warm as it has been. The fresher flow from air that's struggling to reach 10C over much of Norway, Sweden and Finland will push highs through much of the UK from 14-17C across Scotland and the north of England to 17-19C across central and southern England and Wales.

The strong winds though eased during last night and allowed radiational cooling to kick in, resulting in lows dipping to 2-3C in towns and cities and near freezing or below in outlying areas, winds picked up during the day as the land heated and the wind once again rattled in from the North Sea. Even today, it was slightly cooler feeling compared with both yesterday and Saturday as pressures dropped slightly overhead as the high pressure centre pushed further north.

Across Spain and the rain is pushing into the north of the country, up through the Pyrenees and into souther France. This weather is extensive across the western and central Med, pushing up into Greece and up into the Czech Republic and throughout much of central Europe.

TODAY'S WEATHER ACROSS AMERICA By Mark Vogan

Heavy Rains and Storms Persist across Mississippi/Ohio Valleys, heat now restricted to Southeast while Texas enjoys heat relief with some showers

Note the vast 24-hour drop in temperature across NE Mexico and Texas thanks to the passing of the strong cold front! This is welcome relief after Monterrey, Mexico recieved an all-time record 112 degree high for the month of April just last week and even highs of 102-106 degrees over the weekend. The bullseye of greatest 24-hr drop in right over Monterrey!
