WARMER ATLANTIC AIR RETURNING BY LATE WEEK FOR UK, EASTERN US TO GET COLDER!Coldest morning of season for England as well as Chicago!

The coldest air of the season is now penetrating the Great Lakes as Chicago struggles to reach 20 degrees this afternoon after a low which dropped to a chilly 9 degrees this morning. The trough will deepen over the next few days with colder days and nights ahead. At the same time, whilst the coldest nights of winter grip many places across the UK tonight and tomorrow night, the Greenland ridge will finally migrate east and push warmer air back across the frozen UK by Thursday, Friday and into the weekend. Highs may be pushing the 10-13C range over the south whilst 6-8C may be reached over the Central Belt. As well as mild days, nights are likely to remain above freezing.

Unfortunately, models suggest the return to colder air by late next week and into the weekend! Stay tuned for more on this tomorrow!
