WEATHER TALK
By Mark Vogan

Series of Fronts pushing across Scotland introduces colder air!

You'll have noticed a much colder feeling air today and that increased wind which is making it feel much more raw.

This colder, windier and even wetter pattern is thanks to the arrival of low pressure which has kicked out the high which brought us the pleasant mild, sunny conditions of late. A series of fronts pushing down from the northwest across Scotland has changed heavy rains to progressively snowier conditions across the Northwest Highlands this morning and as today wore on, rains were becoming sleetier and even snowy over high ground in the central and even southern Highlands. Temperatures are falling away as the jet stream slides south of the central belt and thus sleet may even fall in the M8 corridor.

The next few days will remain cold, windy and wet with a cold rain at low levels and snow over higher ground.
