High's Across Montana today running 40 to 50 below normal but a rise of 40 to 50 degrees is coming by early Next Week!
After overnight lows fell well into record territory with 14 below zero at Billings, 20 below zero at Glasgow and an impressive 35 below zero at Cut Bank with a wind chill at one point registering a fierce 53 below zero, warmer air is set to return to the frozen American Northwest as Arctic air once again pulls north. Lows dipped to around -30C in Calgary and in some spots in Alberta, lows fell towards -40F/C.
High's today will struggle across much of Montana to reach zero degrees, that's around 40 below normal and after another frigid night, though not quite as cold with lows ranging from around 10 below in Billings to 25 to 30 below zero in the coldest spots, temps are to quickly pick up through this weekend and highs may be pushing 40 to 45 degrees ABOVE zero by Monday and Tuesday.
Frigid Cities of Eastern Europe to become less Cold Next Week
The eastern European cities which have shivered in nearly 2 full weeks of subzero nights and temps running well below normal for the month appear to have light shinning at the end of a frozen tunnel which has seen city's such as Helsinki fall to it's lowest lavues in 8 years but recovery from this punishing severe cold pool which has been sitting stagnant over the region will begin to weaken into next week with lows recovering to perhaps normal values for late February, about time eh? However Helsinki, Tallinn, Minsk, Moscow down to Kiev will remain chilly but not as cold as it has been and perhaps it's safe to say that the worst of a tough 2010-11 winter for such places in particular as Helsinki which suffered a full 12 below normal for December, 1-2 below normal for January and a current 10 below normal for February is nearing an end.
